Meet the Filmmakers
Hey Friends! My name’s Taylor Perkins and am the owner of New Beginnings Films. I’ve been described as sincere, silly, and easy-going… but I like to pride myself as a connoisseur of queso as well. I’ve been making films for as long as I can remember. I remember sneaking into my parent’s closet as a child and finding my dad’s VHS camcorder for the first time (yes, you remember those big things - the “Shoulder Boulders”). Ever since that moment, filmmaking has been the only thing I’ve had such an intense passion for and am continually trying to improve my craft in any way possible.
Going way back, the first wedding I ever filmed was in 2011 for my friend’s cousin and, oh boy, was it a totally different experience from filming your own short films… But I loved it! I loved finding little candid moments between the Bride and Groom, witnessing such intense emotions, and being able to create a story for them that shares that love for one another. It’s been something very special to me and am always so grateful to be a part of the couple’s wedding day throughout all these years.

Frequently Asked Questions
+ Where are you based out of? Do you travel as well?
I used to be based in beautiful Austin, Texas but now am living in my great hometown of San Antonio and still serve all of the surrounding areas as before. I also love to travel and don't ask for any travel fees outside of a 90 minute radius from here!
+ What is your normal turn-around time for delivering final film?
I take the utmost care and attention to detail through the editing phase and want to keep you updated through the process. This can take up to 3-4 months at most but please keep in mind that I'm personally sifting through hours of content to find the absolute best moments to showcase in your final film! I'm constantly trying to minimize the wait though as I know you're excited to see all the moments from the day!
+ I see some films include audio from the day and some do not... Why is that?
While I have my own style of shooting, I'm always open to listening to what the couple wants in their film. Some love the way how only the music drives the film and others want more audio from the day put in - I honestly love both equally! I want you to be incredibly thrilled upon seeing your film for the very first time and keep it living on for many years to come!
